I wrote this for Meg Hutchinson after her dog died in December. I don’t know Meg personally but her music has meant a lot to me in the last couple of years.
Sorry for the fan noise. At some point I’ll get around to setting up my better recording gear again.
Lyrics:
In my mind you’re always writing
Poems in the morning
Or bundled up against the cold
On the roof watching the starsIn my mind you’re always chasing the darkness away
In my mind you’re always driving
Cross-country with your miracle dog
So she can swim in the big lake
And make friends with everyoneIn my mind you’re always quiet
In my mind you’re always singing
Hope back to someone
Or you’re speaking to the people
To make us all a little less afraidIn my mind you’re always chasing the darkness away
You always chase my darkness away
